The Truth

God created you to know him in a personal way and for you to discover His purpose for your life. When we don’t know God in a personal way, we experience a void in our lives. Many will try to fill this void, but in the end, only God can satisfy that need.

HOW DO I GET A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?

Receive JESUS CHRIST

First, what is a Christian? To be a Christian one must realize it is not a matter of religion. It is a matter of relationship. Religion is a system of beliefs and actions that one does in order to express devotion to whatever they place highest value to. "Man looks upon outward things but God looks upon the heart." -1 Sam. 16:7. A Christian is a person who has personally received Jesus into their heart and life as their Savior and Leader.

Now, The Big Questions:

What is God's purpose?

Why do I need Jesus?

How do I receive Jesus?

Steps to Peace with God

#1 God's Purpose: Peace and Life

God loves you and wants you to experience peace and life - abundant and eternal.

We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life John 3:16

Why don't most people have this peace and abundant life that God planned for us to have?

#2 The Problem: Our Separation

God created us in His own image to have an abundant life. He did not make us as robots to automatically love and obey Him. God gave us a will and a freedom of choice.

We chose to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Attempts to Reach God.
People have tried in many ways to bridge this gap between themselves and God...

There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2
No bridge reaches God...except one.
#3 God's Bridge: The Cross

Jesus Christ died on the Cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God and people. By God’s grace, not by our works, we are saved.

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. 1 Peter 3:18
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

God has provided the only way. Each person must make a choice.

#4 Our Response: Receive Christ

We must trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive Him by personal invitation. He is waiting to take you in no matter where you are in life: good or bad. Take the leap to victory!

That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9

Where are you?

Would you like to receive Jesus into your heart and life right now? If so pray then prayer on the back page:

Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me. I know I’m a sinner, and I’m sorry for my sin. I thank you for dying on the cross for me, I turn from my sin and I turn toward you right now. Forgive me for all of it. Fill me with your power. Help me to love you and hate sin from this time forward. Thank you for your forgiveness and reconciliation. I gladly accept it now. Amen.

Now, if you prayed this prayer from your heart, you are according to God's Word, a recipient of eternal life, born again, saved, converted, -a Christian! You are on the path to victory (heaven). But this is only the beginning of your new life. Now it's important to begin your new spiritual growth by:

  1. Pray -- you talk to God.
  2. Read your Bible -- God talks to you
  3. Fellowship – serve with other Christians.
  4. Witness – share the wonderful Word of God.

As a member of Christ’s team in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern to others.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
